Surfers have joined local officials on Japan’s Pacific Coast
to try to help about 70 dolphins back into the water after they
came ashore is the fishing town of Ichinomiya.
Dozens of surfers, officials and local residents rushed to the
scene, about 40 miles southeast of Tokyo, to help the animals
which had been stranded. Thanks to their efforts, most of the
animals were returned to the water by nightfall, although it is
thought that some of the animals may not have survived and it
has been reported that some animals stranded again after the initial
rescue.
At present there is no known reason why these animals stranded.
